The Challenge
Energy Circle Houston is a new initiative under Cup of Joey Events — a facilitated discussion group for honest, high-quality conversations across oil & gas, startups, and emerging energy sectors. Unlike a typical networking event or lecture series, the format is intentionally tight: a 50-minute facilitated discussion built around real perspectives and active participation.
The organizers needed a brand mark that could anchor that identity across signs at meetups, social media posts, LinkedIn community assets, and follow-up content. The logo had to work in every context — light or dark backgrounds, full color or single tone, vertical or horizontal layouts — without a designer in the loop each time.
Our Solution
We developed a primary mark pairing a bold lightning bolt with an open circle — visual shorthand for "energy" and the group's circular, conversation-driven format — set against the deep blue and gold palette commonly associated with the Houston energy community.
The logo was delivered as a complete identity system: vertical and horizontal lockups, full-color and inverted variants for dark backgrounds, and grayscale versions (plus inverted grayscale) for print and single-color applications. Every variant was exported in production-ready formats and a usage guide was provided so the organizers can pull the right asset for any medium without rework or assistance.








The Results
The Energy Circle now has a consistent, recognizable mark across every touchpoint — meetup signage, LinkedIn posts, recap content, and speaker materials. The full set of variants means the organizers can keep the brand sharp as the group scales without needing design support for every new format or venue.
The shared visual identity also reinforces the group's positioning: a serious, recurring forum for energy conversations, distinct from the broader Cup of Joey event series.
